HALLOWEEN

I was invited to celebrate Halloween at Jose's and Adina came to Heidelberg and along with me... well, my costume was a transvestite vampire- so I had to turn from a scruffy, beary student into a lady *lol
Since November is Movember month- I made my transformation via the brokeback mountain cowboy look... check movember.org and donate for research!

I really liked the party, and we had a lot of fun (and punch).... less then a handfull of people came without costumes and the most funny thing for me was that almost no-one recognised me...

loooong time no post

but I am back and just trying to sort out life....
Well after moving and starting my first J-O-B time is way more limited but on the other hand I started to appreciate the time I can spend with friends much more....

My first dinner party was a German-cuisine-influenced night with pumpkin soup and onion cake. I had an American-Australian-Canadian-German mixed crowd in my place and everybody seemed to like it...

Janina said good-bye end of October before she moved to Singapore, hope she had a great Christmas as well...

Frankenstein Castle Run

I applied in three hospitals in Heidelberg and went to 2 interviews. In the end I could choose which offer to accept- well, I signed my first contract as doctor in neurology- am excited to see whats happening in near future: My first day of work will be the 1st of November...

The last weekend of September is Heidelberger Herbst- a traditional festival with lots of eating, drinking and life bands. Antje's friend Gwen was there and we had a fun time...
The picture on the very right shows my view out of the dinning room on the crowds...

BÄRlin

On My way to my grandpa (81st B-day) I stopped by in Berlin and had a fun afternoon with Michelle. Later Robert and Ilias joined us for dinner and drinks.

We got up quite early the next morning... THX Michelle for a special SESSION *haha

Another trip to London

Since I had to cancel my murder mystery night, I booked a flight back to London straight ahead... God bless my "miles and more" that paid for the flight...
We went back to Canterbury and as embassador for German culture at the international drinking night, I got in my Lederhosen and drank my way through all the different stands... such a funny night!!! the next morning... well afternoon, we did not leave without enjoying fish and chips for breakf.. lunch...?!

Having had Malaysian food on Friday, it was Sae's Good Bye Do (Theme: AUSTRALIA) on Sat. Many of her friends came to party in Esher. With some"Vodka Ahoi" and yummy Korean BBQ it got quite wild and ended up in an EXCESSIVE 7hrs session of karaoke....

Summary... again

Once again I was to lazy to post/ didnt have internet access so here a bundled posting :-)
Heather and Sasha left Heidelberg, we have met only twice but had a great time, I ll miss them :-(

I went to London again, Sae's departure to leave Europe and start working in SYDNEY is coming closer. I stayed at Arany's since we had the worst communication ever- Sae's flat was already sublent and she was off for a wedding and night shifts *haha*
Well, I finally got to meet the PARTY PROF which was a fun and went with Arany and Alex to the Vauxhall Tavern... how to put this in words: a UNIQUE experience

We went to Canterbury to met up with old friends from the IFMSA since this year the General Assembly was held in the UK - very handy, and loads of fun....

04 of August 2007: My premiere at the WAGNER FESTSPIELE IN BAYREUTH!
What a night!
We saw Katharina Wagner's highly anticipated directing debut: DIE MEISTERSINGER VON NÜRNBERG.

I really did enjoy myself: Adina's and Jim's company, the opera and production, the Bayreuth feeling and the really good food.
I dont wanna bitch a lot about the opera, singers were not the strongest and a lot of built-in- gimmicks were a little too much, since I enjoyed myself and being there too much....

Another little trip led my way to Mainz. Actually planned as a Rhine River Cruise with wine we re-arrenged everything due to really bad weather forecasts.... and went bowling, darting and played air-hockey instead....

Heringsdorf Impressions Part II

So a week is almost over and the last days the weather has been just perfect!
Very warm and sunny over the day and a bit more chilly during the night (the Sea is still very chilly :-O !!)
I also figured I forgot my swimming shorts, but for God's sake I do have some coloured undies with me and you cannot tell a difference...

Emotionally I am a bit on a roller-coaster ride.
Can't I just fall in love with someone without issues in MY town?!

Anyway...

I saw the latest Harry Potter yesterday in a cinema in Ahlbeck which is a really need experience.
The room is like a restaurant so you sit on tables with cinema chairs and you can get cocktails and suff. I also liked the film, havent read a single book, but am curious to see what happens next- guess next week it will be in the media EVERYWHERE!

Heringsdorf Impressions Part I

Yippieh I arrived in my uhm third (?) home besides Guben and Heidelberg.
There have been numerous homes that will always be connected with great memories for me in the last years... OZ, Zürich, .... So maybe Heringsdorf isn't really third in place. I have come to this place at least once I year when I was growing up. A sanctual place for my family. The beauty of this area lies in special architecture of the mansions (Bäderarchitektur), the white sandy beaches, the many nature resorts and retreat areas including forests (great for bike rides) and much more...

Unfortunately, the summer is quite a rainy one, so ME AND MY UMBERELLA are best friends ;-). To be seen are the house where I live in, the view from the balcony (sunset) and the "Sea Bridge"....

Today was a better day - weather-wise. We even had like 2 hrs of plain beautiful sunshine. I was walking on the beach with my feet in the water...

The forecast predicts a massive improvement and temperature rise for the weekend... *yippieh!
